Andrée-Claude Brayer – Paths of Music: From Harpsichord to Piano
dimanche 17 novembre 16 h 30 min 17 h 30 min
Andrée-Claude Brayer, piano, harpsichord
Works of Froberger, Forqueray, Duphly, Couperin, J-S Bach, Chopin, Ravel, etc.
Passionate about the history and evolution of ancient instruments, you love the great composers of past centuries such as Louis Couperin, Duphly, Forqueray, J-S Bach, and many others.
These visionary musicians presented instrument makers with works whose writing generated fruitful evolutions through continuous exchanges!
And the piano appeared in all its majesty, temporarily making the harpsichord disappear from the scene!
You will discover excerpts of works played on a harpsichord and then on a piano, more recent compositions from the 19th and 20th centuries (including Chopin, Ravel, etc.) that were strongly inspired by Baroque music!
As for the current era, it continues to revisit past masterpieces!
(*) Free concert on November 17 at 4:30 PM as part of the Artistic Walk of Neder-Over-Heembeek on 11/17/2024
