Written in 1950, this intense and deeply expressive trio bears witness to the creative strength of a major 20th‑century composer, widely known in Russia. Weinberg, born Polish and later Russian, was a close friend of Shostakovich, and his artistry is powerful. This trio is a vibrant work, both dark and luminous.
