SUMMARY:“The Art of Transcription” for harp and organ
DESCRIPTION: \nThe breath of the world in a salon…\nThis exceptional concert brings together two instruments that are not often heard side by side\, as one might imagine the organ—with its power—overshadowing the gentle sonority of the harp. \nFor many years\, the two artists Isabelle Lagors\, on concert harp\, and Christian Ott\, on organ\, have combined their talents to introduce audiences to works chosen for their beauty\, their history\, and their emotional resonance. \nYou will discover that the organ and the harp can form a perfectly harmonious duo. This time\, it will be in an intimate salon setting\, with a virtual organ and a concert harp\, that you will experience this superb fusion. \nWhat exactly is a “virtual” organ? It is a digital instrument that faithfully reproduces the sound of prestigious organs thanks to recordings of their pipes in the most beautiful cathedrals. Played from a keyboard and pedalboard\, it allows one to enjoy at home the richness of a grand church organ. \nProgramme:\nGeorges BIZET (1838–1875) – Intermezzo from L’Arlésienne for organ and harp (transcription by César Franck) \nAlfred LEFÉBURE-WÉLY (1817–1869) – Three pieces for organ: Offertoire\, Verset\, Marche pour Procession \nJohannes BRAHMS (1833–1897) – Poco allegretto from Symphony No. 3\, op. 90 (1883)\, transcription for harp and organ \nVittorio MONTI (1868–1922) – Czárdás for harp and organ \nJules MASSENET (1842–1912) – Méditation from the opera Thaïs for harp and organ \nEnrique GRANADOS (1867–1916) – Oriental and Andaluza for harp \nGabriel FAURÉ (1845–1924) – Sicilienne op. 78/80 for harp and organ \nClaude DEBUSSY (1862–1918) – Clair de lune from the Suite bergamasque \n
